Snow Globe DIY

On a recent trip to Anthropologie, I came across these cute snow globes they had! I always love seeing how the store is decorated, oftentimes with every day items that create unique works of art throughout the store. So when I saw these snow globes, I actually thought they were just for decoration, then I picked it up and saw the price tag. That's when I knew I could just make my own!

The supplies:

Jar, little trees, glue, glue gun, glitter, paint brush, quilt batting (for snow. This is just what I had on hand. Any kind of fake snow would be great!)

I used the paint brush to add glue on the trees, then sprinkled them with glitter. I used a glue gun to attach the trees and snow to the lid. I had these cute little poinsettias that I thought would be a nice little touch. The possibilities are endless!

The result:

For the size I made, it would have cost $25 at Anthropologie. Some cost even more. So, $25 Anthro or $5 DIY?

GOOD MORNING PRECIOUS FRIEND! Dearest, this is what I do. I see beautiful things in expensive stores and then I make it myself! SHhhhhhhh!

GREAT JOB! And just using simple objects. I think that is the buzz word these days in blogland: SIMPLE. But simple is sooooooo beautiful!

HOW ARE YOU PRECIOUS?????

Definitely DIY- you made it yourself so there's pride in it (and an extra $20 to splurge on something else)!

I love this version of snow globes..the DIY version that is.
I'm always conflicted with snow globes because some are pretty and some are so touristy (if you know what I mean.)
I like the Anthropologie and DIY style because it is so rustic and heavy vintage style. Very beautiful and great DIY project.

I love D-I-Y's!!! I am actually obsessed with making things... if it's not baking... it's something to either decorate with or usable items that the house needed. Most of my Christmas presents this year are projects that I've tackled over the course of the month. :) Those miniature tress are exceptionally adorable if you dip them in bleach you could have white trees!
